December 16 Club Meeting

While it is still early in the season, we had ten attendees at our club session this week. We demonstrated special features of both Yahoo and Hotmail email accounts including how to create groups, folders, blind courtesy copies, flagging important messages, etc. It is fun to have people at different skill levels because there is ALWAYS something new to learn about computers. Andy and Helen Cook (Alberta) just purchased a brand new Dell laptop and were gracious enough to let us use it during our club presentation. That gave us a chance to look at the new Windows 7 operating system too.

The San Tan room has an overhead projector and large viewing screen which makes for great presentations. We used Skip Emerson's (Oregon) email account as an example as we explored ways to open attachments and photos and save them to our computer vs keeping them in email.

Ray Valentine (professional photographer from Michigan) proves to be a valuable asset and can help us with resizing photos for internet use.

Chris Guld from Geeks on Tour has given the club permission to view their on-line tutorials on a vast array of computer topics at our club meetings. We'll be incorporating some of their expertise in each of our upcoming sessions.

December 16 attendees: Ray Valentine, Bill Murr, Skip Emerson, Andy & Helen Cook, Jan Miller, Montez Beard, Peggy Fetzer, Darlene Norton, and Sue Hepler (behind the camera).

Join us for our next meeting!!
Wednesday, January 6, 9:30 in the San Tan room.
Subject: How to create a blog plus tutorials from Geeks on Tour

Who?? -- All skill levels. It's a GREAT opportunity to learn more about your computer!
