Minutes of December 22, 2010

Today’s topic continues toward our goal of showing all the fun ways to use your computer.  Most of us are familiar with playing Solitaire but there is another whole world of games available for our entertainment.  Sue Hepler introduced several different kinds of games that can be played on your laptop and that can be played individually or along with the grandkids.  She demonstrated some hidden object games, word skill games, and matching games.  The samples presented were from Big Fish games located at:
  1. Fiction Fixers:  The World of Oz
  2. Fishdom:  Seasons Under The Sea
  3. Sandscript
If you wish to download these games, go to the Big Fish game site link above and add the game name into the search box near the top of the page.  You can play free for one hour.  If you decide you really like the games, they can be purchased for around $9.00…..or you can become a member of the Big Fish Game Club and purchase a game for $6.99 each month.  You can download as many games as you wish and play free for an hour…or play online for free.
The rest of the meeting was spent as “open computer” time when members could ask for help with individual problems or questions.
Next week on December 29, we’re having a full “open computer” workshop with no formal presentation.  Bring your laptop and chat with other members who have similar questions or get help from Mike and Sue about specific issues.
